6A Ballot Question

Yes: 275

No: 170

<< New text box >>

6A- Is a continuation of funds currently being received from taxes. This is NOT going to raise your taxes from what is currently being collected on your taxes. 6A is a Ballot Issue trying to retain money that is currently being collected from taxes previously approved for a bond that was passed in 2004 in order to add the gymnasium, weight room and the extra dining hall to our beautiful facility.

Voting YES on 6A it is going to help stabilize the budget from what is the ever increasing economy, as well as being able to maintain and update the facility, pursue larger grants, and offer more programming. Please help spread the word on 6A and help us get it passed in order to better Our Community Center, and keep Our Center the envy of other communities. You can make a difference by helping spread the word and voting YES on 6A.

Election is on May 2, 2023 and you can either mail in your ballot or drop it off at the Blanca/ Ft. Garland Community Center.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please call the Community Center (719)379-3450

6A- There has been a lot of misunderstanding as to what 6A is. First and foremost this is not a tax increase! This Ballot issue is for the Blanca/ Ft. Garland Community Center (BFGCC) to be able to keep collecting current tax money already being received in order to pay off a bond. The BFGCC is hoping to retain the mills in order to be able to make the facility better for the community as well as keep up with the inflation that we all are dealing with. BFGCC is asking for the community support in voting YES on the ballot issue and thanks you for your support. Again this is NOT a tax increase. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact Tomas Maestas at 719-379-3450 or tomasm@bfgcc.org. Our Community Our Center….
